Pirates of the Caribbean 6 has been in the news ever since the last instalment, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales released. There are millions of fans are curious to know whether the makers of the film will release Pirates of the Caribbean 6 as the most recent instalment was the weakest chapter of the series when it comes to domestic box office goes.
Lee Arenberg, who played the goofy pirate Pintel in the original Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, was recently interviewed by a YouTube channel Kendall Talks TV. In the same interview, when the subject of a potential Pirates of the Caribbean 6 pop up Lee Arenberg said that the new part of the franchise is in the works.

“They’re definitely talking about it, as far as I know,” he told Kendall Talks TV about a sixth Pirates.
It is still not clear whether the new instalment will be another sequel or they will opt to go the reboot route with the franchise – which had Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow.
The discussion began in October 2018 when it was revealed that Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were having discussions about taking on a revamped take, but then the duo apparently walked out from that business in February 2019.
In October last year, Disney brought a new pair of writers namely Ted Elliot and Craig Mazin to take Pirates of the Caribbean franchise forward. Elliot had previously co-written the script for the original trilogy while Mazin is popularly known for creating the critically-acclaimed HBO limited series Chernobyl.
We can’t predict the next step to be taken by Disney but for what it’s worth Lee Arenberg would surely be interested in reprising his fan-favourite supporting role.
When Lee Arenberg was would return to the part if the opportunity arose, he said, “I mean yeah, of course, obviously. But they’ve already done two without us [laughs]. I love it, though, I love that part. But it’s not up to me.”
He said, “I think [Depp’s] had a great run. Obviously he’s made that character his own and it’s become the thing that he’s most famous for now.”
“It’s been great for him and it’s been great for us… There’s that saying, ‘Don’t frown because it’s over, smile because it happened”.
“The fact that they’re rebooting something that you did means that you did something that was worth rebooting. It’s an honour,” he further added.
Pirates of the Caribbean 6 will be directed by Joachim Ronning. The release date of Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is yet to be announced by the makers but there are reports suggesting that it will be released in last 2021.
