Stephanie Lowe ‘absolutely shattered’ by Phillip Schofield Coming Out As Gay

TV host Phillip Schofield came out as gay in a heartfelt Instagram statement. His wife Stephanie Lowe is reported to be “absolutely shattered” by the news.

“Steph is being a rock for Phillip, as she always has been, but there’s no denying she is absolutely shattered by all this. She and the girls love him very much and will support him as much as they can, but the knowledge they have been living a lie for so long is terribly hurtful. It’s humiliating to think that you’re married to someone who doesn’t love you the way you love them.” a friend close to the couple told The Mirror.

Phillip Schofield and Stephanie Lowe have been married for about 27 years before his coming out as gay. While Stephanie is yet to break her silence on the news, Philip has talked about the situation. “Yeah, it’s tough, but this is not something that’s happened quickly, I’ve had to deal with this in my head for quite some time. We’ve been honest and open. .. Steph… I can’t write in any statement what I feel about that woman. She’s amazing, she’s incredible. There is no one in my life who would have supported me the way… as a wife, as the way she’s supported me. She’s astonishing, literally astonishing.”

According to sources, Stephanie isn’t in a rush to pursue a divorce with Phillip Schofield.

“Steph isn’t bitter over Phil’s coming out,” said an insider. “She isn’t the type to be spiteful by dragging him into court. She’s saying she’ll stick with him until he’s settled and happy in a new relationship, and then they’ll talk about an amicable split deal.”
