There was a hashtag trending on Twitter- #UninstallWhatsApp. We were surprised to see why a section of the Internet wants it uninstalled from the phones. Well, they want two prominent personalities-Amitabh Bachchan and business tycoon Anand Mahindra to disable their WhatsApp. The hashtag #UninstallWhatsApp began trending on Twitter after a Twitter user created a petition requesting Mark Zuckerberg to disable WhatsApp for Amitabh Bachchan and Anand Mahindra.
The Change.org petition created by Twitter user @RoflGandhi_ read, “A megastar and a renowned industrialist are falling prey to fake news & bizarre content being fed to them via Whatsapp. We need to restore the dignity of two gentlemen. Through this petition we are requesting Mark Zuckerberg to disable Whatsapp on their numbers.”
Over 1,500 people have signed the petition till now.
Amitabh Bachchan is very much active on social media and he has been slammed many times for sharing wrong information on social media. He was recently criticized for retweeting a post on Twitter that falsely showed an illuminated India on the world map.
Anand Mahindra has a great sense of humour but he is also called out sometimes for his posts. Recently, he was criticised for sharing a picture of a mother and a toddler wearing masks made out of leaves. Later, after receiving flak, he deleted the post.
