PepsiCo has signed Bollywood actor Sonu Sood for its upcoming Instagram campaign. This campaign encourages people to follow the norms of social distancing in light of the COVID-19 outbreak. Sonu Sood has emerged as a messiah for stranded migrant workers during the difficult times. He has dedicated his time ad resources to ensure that thousands of stranded migrant laborers get to their families safely. His philanthropy has captured the attention of people and catapulted his fame.
This PepsiCo Instagram campaign will be the first big brand association for Sonu Sood. Earlier, he has been associated with the government-backed ‘Fit India Movement’. He has worked in Bollywood films such as Jodhaa Akbar and Dabangg.
The actor has emerged as a beacon of hope for many migrant workers hoping to go back to their homes. He has provided buses to transport workers, meals kits, and sanitizers to help out in the hour of need. In addition, he also left a number on Instagram where those in need of help could get in touch. Moreover, he also helped 150 migrant workers to fly to Kochi in a chartered flight.
Experts believe that the stoic philanthropy would have more impact than star power at the moment. Sonu Sood has also seen a surge in his social media popularity. The Dabangg actor has gained more than three million followers on Instagram and the Pepsi campaign will only help him in broadening his fan base further.
