Actress Parineeti Chopra after a smashing performance in The Girl On The Train will next be seen in sports drama Saina. The biopic based on the life of badminton ace Saina Nehwal has the actress playing the titular role of the shuttler. Saina, based on former world number 1 Badminton player and Olympics bronze medallist has finally got a release date.
T-Series took to social media to share the release date with a new poster of Saina. They wrote, “Presenting the inspiring story of one of India’s greatest athletes, #Saina. In cinemas on 26th March.”
The biopic on shuttler Saina Nehwal is directed by Amole Gupte. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Sujay Jairaj and Rashesh Shah under the banner of T-Series and Front Foot Pictures. .
Initially, the movie had Shraddha Kapoor playing the titular role. The actor had aced the look test and even undergone training for the sports drama. She was trained by Indian team head coach Pullela Gopichand for over a month-and-a-half. But the shoot of the film was stalled when Shraddha was diagnosed with dengue..Parineeti stepped into Shraddha’s shoes in 2019.
Saina’s release like most of the movie was stalled due to COVID-19 Lockdown. But It will now hit the screens on March 26, 2021.
