Parineeti Chopra has been giving us some stellar performances as of recently. The actress always wishes to try new things so as to have a versatile profile for herself.
The ‘Kesari’ actress has been roped in for being a part of the official Hindi remake of the Hollywood thriller ‘The Girl On The Train’. The Hollywood film was based on the 2015 runaway bestseller of the same name by Paula Hawkins. The actor shall be playing the role of an alcoholic divorcee, who becomes involved in a missing person’s investigation. The role was originally played by Emily Blunt, who received critical acclaim for her performance in the 2016 film.
In a statement given to the Tribune, Parineeti says, “I want to do roles that audiences haven’t seen me in before and ones that require a lot of prep and homework, which is why ‘The Girl On The Train’ really worked for me. The character is an alcoholic and a victim of abuse, and I haven’t explored anything like her on-screen before”
She also says that she will be in a brand new avatar for her viewers. The film is going to be directed by Ribhu Dasgupta. He says, “The character is edgy, dark, and gritty along with being extremely emotional. So it is great to team up with someone like Parineeti, who is an extremely sincere actor and a powerful performer”.
The film is to be produced by Reliance Entertainment. Shibasish Sarkar from reliance entertainment added that “The Girl On The Train’ is one of the best psychological thrillers and also a heartwarming story of the female protagonist and her discovery of life. We have procured the rights of the book and the film, and will be adapting it from an Indian story telling perspective. Amblin will be a partner in this film.”
The film will be shot in the UK and will start rolling by July and should hit the theatres by 2020. Parineeti was last seen in ‘Kesari’ along with Akshay Kumar. She is set to be seen on screen next in ‘Jabariya Jodi’ along with Siddharth Malhotra.
