Shiv Sena: Make Pankaja Munde CM for a hour to solve Maratha reservations issue

Shiv Sena has asked Devendra Fadnavis to make Pankaja Munde CM for an hour to clear the Maratha reservation file.

Shiv Sena has been vocal on their stance on issues of importance. The party took a jibe at Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday saying that state Cabinet Minister Pankaja Munde be made Maharashtra’s Chief Minister for at least an hour to clear the Maratha reservation file.

The party was reacting on Munde’s comments where she said, “Had the file of Maratha reservation been on my table, I would not have delayed it even for a moment. This issue is being delayed as it is pending in the high court.” She had said these words while addressing to Maratha protesters at Parli in Beed district, reports NDTV.

In the editorial Saamana, the Shiv Sena said, “If Pankaja Munde can clear the file without any problems, she should be made the chief minister with the consent of everybody for at least for an hour, so that a decision is taken on the Maratha reservation file.” It further added, “Pankaja Munde’s stand needs to be understood. There is no reason to believe that she intends to play politics over the issue. If she can request the prime minister to intervene, why can’t Fadnavis go to Delhi and do that as well?”

The BJP’a ally in the state taunted PM Narendra Modi for his foreign tours and lack of interest in the country’s affairs. Even CM Devendra Fadnavis and cabinet minister Pankaja Munde became the target of Shiv Sena, which said that the BJP governments have a tendency to crush protests.

Blaming that tall promises made before the polls create issues, Shiv Sena took on Fadnavis. On the issue of Maratha reservation, which turned violent earlier this week, Shiv Sena said, “Promises (of reservation) made to the Dhangar and Maratha communities should be fulfilled now or else the file should be sent to Pankaja Munde for clearance so that the issue gets resolved.”

Marathas have been demanding 16 percent reservation in government jobs and educations. They called for a state-wide protest which paralysed the Financial capital for hours on Wednesday. Today Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had called for a all party meet to discuss on the issue.

After the meeting, speaking to the reporters, Fadnavis said that he had appealed for peaceful atmosphere. Adding on, he said that all the cases against the protesters will be cancelled. Sharing his views on Maratha reservations, he said that he had requested the backward committee to submit a report and based on its recommendations reservations will be provided. He also said that all party have similar opinion on the issue and the government will take unanimous stand on the matter.
