Panipat song ‘Mard Maratha’: Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon glorify the courage of the Marathas
Panipat first song 'Mard Maratha' is out now. It hails the bravery of the Maratha empire and their ancestry.
The first song of the periodical drama Panipat titled Mard Maratha is out now. The song features Arjun Kapoor as Sadashiv Rao Bhau and Kriti Sanon as Parvati Bai. The duo joins to glorify the Maratha empire in praising the courage of their warrior ancestry.
‘Mard Maratha’ also features Nana Saheb Peshwa (Mohnish Bahl), Vishwas Rao (Abhishek Nigam), Padmini Kolhapure (Gopika Bai), Abhishek Nigam (Vishwas Rao) and Shamsher Bahadur (Sahil Salathia)

‘Mard Maratha’ is composed by the duo Ajay-Atul along with other singers Kunal Ganjawala, Sudesh Bhosle, Swapnil Bandhodkar, Padmanabh Gaikwad and Priyanka Barve. The lyrics of the song are penned by Javed Akhtar and choreographed by Raju Khan. The song was shot in 13 days with 1300 dancers and the impact of it can be seen in the video of the song.
Panipat marks the comeback of the two 80’s actresses Zeenat Aman and Padmini Kolhapure as Sakeena Begum and Gopika Bai. The film is produced by Sunita Gowariker and Rohit Shelatkar’s company Vision World.
Panipat is a historical period drama that dates back to the Third Battle of Panipat fought between the Maratha Empire and the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali in 1761. The event is significant in modern Indian history as it finished the march of the Maratha empire, eventually leading to the rise of the British in India.
The film is slated to hit the theatres on December 6.
