Teenage pace bowling sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi is all set to earn his debut Test cap when Pakistan take on New Zealand in the third Test match which gets underway on Monday.
Afridi’s meteoric rise in international thus would come full circle as the left-arm seam bowler has been making an impact ever since he got an opportunity at the highest level.
But it has come at the cost of Mohammad Abbas’ injury, which he had sustained in the second Test . The series is currently locked at 1-1.

“If I get a chance, I will do my best,” Shaheen said, as quoted by AFP. “I always had belief in my ability and in my hard work although I didn’t expect my chance in Tests will come so early,” he added.
Afridi grabbed eyeballs when he claimed eight wickets in a domestic match. The lad hasn’t looked back since his debut in the domestic circuit as he ended with 12 wickets in the U-19 Cricket World Cup earlier this year.
Afridi had a successful T20I series against the West Indies in March and he once again stepped up the gas last month against New Zealand that saw him take consecutive four-wicket hauls in the ODI series where he was named Man-of-the-series.
