The man in a video singing the Indian national anthem during the match between India and Pakistan has said that he did it to show a small gesture of peace.
Adil Taj, the Pakistani was seen singing the Indian national anthem when India took on Pakistan during the group stage clash in the Asia Cup in the UAE.
Taj, in an interview with ANI said that listening to the Indian national anthem gave him goosebumps when he heard it for the first time in a Bollywood movie.
“The moment Indian national anthem was played, I got a reminder of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan stating that If India would move one step ahead then we would move two steps further. It was a small gesture from my side towards peace, towards respect,” Taj said, as quoted by ANI.
He further added, “I got goosebumps when I first heard the anthem in a Bollywood movie.”
He also said that he plans on stitching an India and Pakistan flag together to attend the Super-Four clash between the Asian giants.
“I am very excited ahead of the match. I am planning to stitch India-Pakistan flag together and wear it for tomorrow’s match. That would be another positive message from my side,” he said.
Taj further went on to say that there should be more bilateral series between India and Pakistan.
“Sports unite countries. We would again like to have regular series between the two countries. It will play a positive role towards peace, according to me,” he signed off.
