A Pakistani TV actress and singer Reshma was allegedly gunned down by her husband in the Nowshera Kalan area of Pakistan.
Reshma, who reportedly was the suspect’s fourth wife used to live with her brother in a shared home at Nowshera Kalan, north Pakistan.
According to a report by Geo TV, the police revealed that the suspect had barged into Reshma’s house and shot her multiple times after a heated domestic dispute.
He then managed to escape the crime scene, but a murder investigation has been initiated into the matter after the police registered a case.
The murdered actress was famous in Pakistan for her role in a drama called “Zhobal Goluna” and also released a few songs in her native language of Pashto.
This is, however, not the first time such incidents have taken place at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa area in Pakistan. Reshma’s death was reported to be the 15th such instances of violence against female artists this year.
In a similar kind of incident, actress Sunbul was shot dead by a man, after she refused to accompany the accused to a private party on February 3.
Meanwhile, former Pakistan cricket legend Imran Khan is poised to become the 19th Prime Minister of the nation after his party Tehreek-e-Insaf emerged as the single largest party in the national elections on July 25.
His party won 119 of the 225 votes and failed just 128 votes short of winning the elections by a majority and creating their own government. As of now, talks are on with several parties and individual candidates to join them and form a coalition government at the center. Imran is set to take oath in his office on August 15.
