7 killed, 70 injured in Pakistan blast, s say explosives planted in bag left at Peshawar madrassa
An explosion rocked Pakistan’s Peshawar on Tuesday morning. The shocking incident took place at a Madrassah at Kohart Road in Dir Colony in Peshawar. Reportedly seven people were killed and as many as 70 were injured. The development was confirmed by Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Mansoor Aman, Dawn reported.

All the injured have been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital at Peshawar. A spokesman for the Lady Reading Hospital nearby said it had received seven dead and 70 wounded patients, many with burns suffered in the blast.

Reuters quoted sources”The blast took place in a madrassa where unknown people had planted explosives in a plastic bag. Many children were among the dead”
Rescue teams have reached the blast site and operations are underway. The area has been cordoned off.

On October 21, a powerful explosion had ripped through a four-storey building in Pakistan’s Sindh province. It had killed at least five people and injured 20 others.
Two floors of the building near Maskan Chowrangi in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area in Karachi were severely damaged, leading authorities to fear that the toll may rise.
