Bringing Pakistan’s apathy and human rights violation in ‘light’, Baloch students in Islamabad and Karachi carried out protests on Saturday in solidarity with the families of missing persons.
Supporting Baloch family members who are on hunger strike outside the Quetta Press Club for the past two weeks, the students demanded an immediate release of thousands of Baloch and Pashtun activists, who, they claim, have been kidnapped and tortured by ISI and the army.
The protestors, in Islamabad, marched carrying posters through various streets, chanting slogans against the judiciary and government for failing to take notice of the alarming situation. The protestors noted that their protest was in solidarity with women and children who have been protesting in the cold weather of Quetta for their loved ones.
On the other hand, Baloch students also protested in front of Karachi press club demanding the immediate release of all missing persons. Strongly criticising the Balochistan’s provincial government, the protestors said that the government has been totally indifferent to the grave issue of missing persons.
Meanwhile, Baloch activists settled abroad including Ashraf Sherjan and Atta Baloch also criticised Pakistan’s government for its failure to listen to the demands of victim families.
It is to be noted that Pakistan shows itself as a ‘victim of terrorism’ but the actual victims are Sindhis, Baloch people and residents of Pok. All these people have been raising their voices against the apathy and human rights violation of Pakistani authorities in the country, as well as internationally since long, unfortunately, no one responded yet.
