In its last added update to the OnePlus 6 series, it added camera improvement and Google lens integration, among other updates. Last week some OnePlus 6 users complained that they are facing screen flickering issues with the phone display. In the weekly update 242, the company wrote, “We have noticed feedback from some users regarding the adaptive brightness feature on the OnePlus 6, it will be optimised in the next OTA update (to be released very soon!).”
OnePlus 6 comes along with an update to fix the issue; the fix includes an adaptive brightness feature which helps in automatically adjusting the brightness of the phone. Yet the new feature has turned out to be problematic, as the users have still noticed their device screen flickering, especially in outdoor conditions.
Customers have voiced about their discomfort on various platform, mentioned in the report on Piunika Web, and on the comment threads on Reddit and also on the platform XDA.
As per the OnePlus forum, the screen is said to be flickering between 95-100 percent and users have been noticing this in the version 5.18 as well as 5.19.
Users noticed that the flickering happened when they moved the phone slightly. Also, the brightness levels seemed more noticeable when the screen has a white background or it is brightly coloured. As per the reports published in Phone Arena’s website.
On August 3rd, OnePlus posted some encouraging news for the users facing this problem.
According to a report, the next OTA update for the OnePlus 6 device will include optimisation for the adaptive brightness feature which will surely remove the bug which started the flickering problem.
As per the company, the new OTA update will be released soon.
