In Odisha, at least five Naxals were killed in an encounter between security forces and Naxals in Malkangiri’s Kalimeda.

In a tweet, the news agency ANI said, “#Odisha: Five Naxals were killed in encounter between security forces and Naxals in Malkangiri’s Kalimeda, early morning today.”

Following the specific input, security forces launched the search operation in the forest area of Malkangiri’s Kalimeda and successfully eliminated five Naxals. Arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot.

More details are awaited.

Earlier, at least three Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Mirtur area of Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh. Along with the bodies of the three Maoists, .303 rifle, live rounds, tiffin bomb, cordtex detonating cord, revolutionary literature and other materials were recovered from the encounter spot.

Previously, security forces achieved a success in eliminating three Maoists in Sukma district of Bastar region. Following a specific input about the presence of Maoists, a team of District Force had launched an intensive search operation near Dantewada border. The encounter took place in the forest of Muler area.
