OAG report: Mumbai airport amongst least punctual globally, Delhi follows suit
Indian aviation ministry has boasted about its airline industry for decades, but have barely accepted to solve the challenges associated with it, and now we have our poor scorecard. In terms of on-time performance, Mumbai has been ranked fifth-least punctual airport in the world, while Delhi airport too has not received a good marks. The findings were released by the British aviation intelligence firm OAG, which did a survey of 513 airports and 65 airlines across the world.
Considering the ranks, that airports in India received, Mumbai was placed at 509, Delhi at 451, Bangaluru at 262, Chennai at 255, and Hyderabad at 246. Not only our airports but the airlines too fetched bad at the rating, as Air India was placed the second poorest performer. However, Port Blair airport was ranked 65th on the basis of on-time performance and Indigo became the highest ranking airline from India at 14th rank.
