World Number One Novak Djokovic and his wife Jelena test positive for COVID-19 after Adria Tour event
World number one Novak Djokovic has tested Coronavirus positive. This was following an exhibition event he organized in Croatia. The World’s number one confirmed that both he and his wife Jelena have tested positive for Covid-19 upon returning home to Serbia. His children’s results were negative.
Novak Djokovic who is not showing any symptoms said, “The moment we arrived in Belgrade we went to be tested. My result is positive, just as Jelena’s, while the results of our children are negative.”

Djokovic declared that he will remain in self-isolation for 14 days and repeat the test in five days.
The Serb star was scheduled to play in Sunday’s final, He has become the fourth player to contract the virus. This is after taking part in his exhibition tennis tournament in the Balkans. Djokovic, joins Grigor Dimitrov, Borna Coric, and Viktor Troicki in testing positive for COVID-19.
The World Number One has been criticized for organizing the tournament. Also for bringing in players from other countries amid the coronavirus pandemic. Djokovic was the face behind the Adria Tour. It is a series of exhibition events that started in the Serbian capital and later moved to Zadar. He left Croatia after the final was canceled and was tested in Belgrade.
The ATP wished players and staff who tested positive at the event a speedy recovery. They also urged “strict adherence to responsible social distancing” to limit the spread of the virus.
