Noida: Uncle rapes 7-year-old niece, arrested

The Police have arrested 31-year-old man for allegedly raping his 7-year-old niece after giving her sedative mixed cold drink in Noida. The minor lives in Delhi and had come to stay with her uncle and aunt in Noida Sector 15, PTI reported.

On Tuesday, when the victim’s father reached the uncle’s home, he found her daughter unconscious. Later, the girl told her father that since the time she had come to stay with her uncle, he used to give her cold drink and after consuming the laced drink she would lose consciousness, Police told PTI.

After hearing her daughter’s ordeal, father approached the sector 20 Police station and lodged an FIR. “An FIR was lodged on a complaint by the girl’s father around 6.45 pm. The father alleged that the uncle of the child had raped her after giving her sedatives at their home,” the official said. The accused was arrested within hours,” the official said.

The accused uncle has been booked under section 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and other related offences of India Penal Code (IPC). He has also been booked under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, he said. He said that the police were further quizzing the uncle, while the girl was sent for medical examination.
