The rescue operation to search the stuck people inside the debris of the two buildings that collapsed 35 hours back in Greater Noida is still on. Nine people’s bodies have been recovered and more are to be expected. The NDRF teams have slowed down the evacuation process and are removing the debris manually.
It is known that among the bodies that have been recovered that includes a 14-month-old baby girl and her parents. Police have registered an FIR against 24 people and arrested four people under various sections of IPC. Among the two arrested include two property dealers, one builder of the six-storey building and a owner of the house, reports NDTV. The police have registered a case against the people under National Security Act, which provides ‘preventive detention in certain cases and for matters connected therewith’.
The family that succumbed had shifted to the newly constructed four-storey building just three days before it was crushed by the neighbouring six-storey building. As per to the information, NDRF teams, police and the fire brigade are likely to go on till the evening.
The rescue team had recovered two bodies from the remains of four-storey building late Tuesday night, and two more on Wednesday morning. With the search operation on, five more bodies were recovered till Wednesday night and the ninth body was recovered on Thursday morning. As per news agency reports, 18 families lived in the four-storey building in the Shah Beri village.
