MHA: No COVID-19 test on Amit Shah since last wee; Manoj Tiwari deletes tweet
Union Home Minister Amit Shah had tested positive for Covid-19 last Sunday August 2. He had shared the news on social media. Amit Shah had tweeted that on getting the initial symptoms of coronavirus, he got the test done and the report has come positive. He was admitted to the Medanta Hospital in Gurugram on the advice of his doctors.
The home minister had also requested those who had come in contact with him in the last few days to get tested for coronavirus and isolate themselves.
Recently Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Manoj Tiwari tweeted that Amit Shah had tested negative for coronavirus. “Home Minister Amit Shah ji’s Covid report showed he is negative,” Tiwari had tweeted in Hindi.

Reacting to Manoj Tiwari’s tweet, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) soon released a statement. The COVID-19 test of Home Minister Amit Shah has not been conducted since last week, MHA official told ANI. This clarification comes after BJP leader and MP Manoj Tiwari tweeted saying that Shah had tested negative for coronavirus. The BJP leader has now deleted his tweet.
Not only Amit Shah several politicians such as BS Yediyurappa, Siddaramaiah, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Arjun Ram Meghwal and Karti Chidambaram, among others, have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Shah is currently undergoing treatment in Medanta hospital in Gurugram. Reportedly he will be discharged from the hospital after his second test comes negative.
