The Japanese automaker, Nissan has come under scrutiny after its ex-chairman Carlos Ghosn was arrested on suspicion of financial misconduct. On Friday, the company, Nissan has made an announcement recalling approximately 150,000 vehicles due to improper tests on new its units.
It is to be noted that Ghosn has been in detention after being arrested Nov. 19 on suspicion of underreporting his income. The automaker company issued a statement, “Nissan has recently found several nonconformities that may have caused inaccurate pass/fail judgements during the inspection process.”
Talking to media, Nissan Motor Co. Corporate Vice President Seiji Honda said that a recall will be issued next week, and measures will be taken to prevent a recurrence.
The company has earlier this year said that it altered the results of exhaust emissions and fuel economy tests of new vehicles sold in Japan.
According to media reports, numbers of employees admitted they carried out “improper” tests on the brake and other systems before shipment, the newspaper said, without specifying how many cars were affected.
