Netflix users think that an episode on Korean series My Secret, Terius could have predicted the coronavirus two years before it actually happened. With a lot of people streaming Netflix and Amazon Prime during the quarantine, some Netflix users went through the 2018 South Korean drama ‘My Secret, Terrius’. The series is available in a lot of countries worldwide. However, it is not available in India as of yet. Many users who watched the show pointed out that it had some uncanny similarities to the coronavirus outbreak that we are facing currently.
The episode, which has become a viral sensation, has a man telling his partner to stay in his home to be safe. This is so much like the advice being given out to prevent the spread of the coronavirus outbreak. In addition, the episode also has a doctor explaining about the mutant coronavirus outbreak which attacks the respiratory organ.
Also, the episode has a scene where a doctor hands over a file. The conversation thereafter is eerily similar to the situation today.
“We must do more research, but it looks like a mutant coronavirus.”
“Corona? Then MERS?”
“MERS, SARS, the common flu. They all fall in the same gene family with the same gene information. The coronavirus attacks the respiratory system. During the 2015 MERS epidemic, the mortality rate was over 20 percent.”
“But that’s not serious enough to be used as a weapon. Am I wrong?”
“Like I said, this is a mutant virus. Someone tweaked it to increase the mortality rate to 90 percent.”
