Karan Johar has been hitting headlines these days, but for all the wrong reasons. The filmmaker received a huge backlash on Twitter for majorly supporting and launching the star kids in the industry. The talk about nepotism rose to debate on Twitter after the tragic suicidal death of Sushant Singh Rajput. Celebs whom Johar launched in the industry where also targeted by social media users. Now, as per the latest reports, the filmmaker is said to have resigned by MAMI Board.
Reportedly, Karan Johar is upset with few of his industry friends for not standing up with him, while he was subjected to blame for existing nepotism in Bollywood. While the filmmaker remained unspoken about the backlash that he received, the latest report in Mumbai Mirror stated that the filmmaker has already sent in his resignation through an email to the director of the annual MAMI film festival, Smriti Kiran.
Not just that, the reports also suggest that the chairperson of MAMI and Bollywood actress, Deepika Padukone tried to convince Karan to take his decision back. However, it turns out the director had already made up his mind.
Karan Johar is yet to officially comment on the same.
