It is to be noted that Dhanteras also known as Dhantrayodashi is the first day of the Diwali festival and Hindus worship Kubera – the god of wealth – as a tradition. As the folklore go, it is also believed that Goddess Lakshmi came out of the ocean during the churning of the milky sea (Samudramanthan) with a pot of gold and wealth on this day. Dhanteras is also known as the day of Yamadeepdaan.
Today the timing for the Puja this year is between 6.05 pm to 8.01 pm.
