Allahabad: Narendra Giri Chief Mahant of Akhara Parishad, Found Dead
FIR filed in Mahant Narendra Giri death case, Accused Anand Giri Arrested
Narendra Giri Chief Mahant of Akhara Parishad was found dead by his disciples. He was the president of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP), at Shri Math Baghambari Gaddi in Prayagraj. He was found hanging from the ceiling of his fan.

According to the police, Narendra Giri’s students found his body. On Monday when the seer did not come out of his room, his students knocked on the door. The door was locked from inside. They soon broke it and found his dead body hanging from the ceiling. The police said a suicide note had been found near the body. It has mentioned Anand Giri. The Mahant accused Anand of mental torture that led him to take this extreme step.
A day after Narendra Giri’s demise, the police arrested his closest disciple Anand Giri. Two other disciples detained for questioning are Sandeep Tiwari and Aadya Tiwari.

Narendra Giri was an influential seer, seen frequently with top politicians of the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Adityanath Yogi were some of the leaders who expressed grief at his death.
