Muthoot Group chairman MG George Muthoot passed away on Saturday. He died after allegedly falling from the fourth floor of his residence in Delhi. The shocking incident took place at around 9 pm on Friday. He was soon rushed to Fortis Escort Hospital. But was declared dead during treatment. Muthoot’s post-mortem report which was conducted by AIIMS suggests no foul play.
The Muthoot Finance said in a regulatory filing on Saturday, “M G George Muthoot’s sudden and unexpected demise will be an irreparable loss to the Company, employees, all stakeholders, family, and friends. All directors and employees of the Company convey deep sympathy, sorrow and condolences to his family,”
They added, His sudden and unexpected demise will be an irreparable loss to the company, employees, all stakeholders, family, and friends, the filing said. But they did not reveal the reason for the cause of his demise.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) R.P. Meena said they had received the information at 9:21 p.m. from a private hospital regarding the admission of Mr. George, a resident of East of Kailash, after suffering a fall. Police sources said they have established that George was alone when the incident took place. The CCTV footage shows him standing on the fourth floor.
They added that an Enquiry is being conducted into the matter and statements have been recorded. But no foul play has been suspected.
