Yet another molestation case came to light during Dussehra celebration in Mumbai. A 17-year old girl on Thursday was allegedly molested in Oshiwara area by one of her family friends.
The molestation incident took place on Thursday night when the minor girl was on her way back home after attending a Garba event in Andheri West.
A neighbour of the victim offered her lift in his vehicle since both live in the same area. But later he took the girl to a deserted place near Oshiwara and started molesting her. The scared girl jumped out of the car and started running. The accused told her to stop but she didn’t after which the accused chased her, reported Mumbai Mirror.
The girl, somehow, managed to reach home, after which she narrated the entire incident to her brother and mother, who then went to Oshiwara Police station and registered a complaint. Based on the complaint, police registered an FIR and booked the accused under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The 28-year-old accused was arrested within a few hours. He is said to be a driver. The Oshiwara Police are yet to receive the medical report of the accused to ascertain if he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
