Mumbai: Teacher molests child during school hours, booked
Child molestations are on the rise these days. Kandivali police have booked a woman on Monday for allegedly molesting a four-year-old student after the parents lodged a complaint against her. The teacher has been booked under the stringent POSCO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) act.
According to the complaint lodged by the parents, as reported by Mid-Day, the child had complained that her woman teacher touched her inappropriately. Soon the parents went to the police station and lodged a complaint. Later the police were summoned and they were told that the entire premise of the school is covered with CCTV cameras. The school authorities said, “For the safety of children, we have hired only female staff for the pre-primary section.”
Asked about the details, a police officer said they saw the video, but nothing concrete has been found in the CCTV footage. The officer added, as reported by TOI, “It is not clear as of now as to where the molestation occurred. We are quizzing school staffers and recording statement.” Though management claim innocence, the lack of CCTV camera in the washroom leaves a credential suspicion. Police said that no arrest has been made so far and they are probing the matter.
