Mumbai police have booked cricketer Suresh Raina, Sussanne Khan and Guru Randhawa. It was during a raid at the Dragonfly club on wee hours of Tuesday. The celebrities along with 7 staff members and 27 customers were booked for violating COVID-19 norms.
As reported by sources to Midday, Police raided the popular Dragonfly Club around 2.30 am. The celebs and others were booked under Section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant). 269 (whoever unlawfully or negligently does any act which is, and which he knows or has reason to believe to be, likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life). 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC and provisions of NMDA.
Sources added that rapper Badshah who was also present at the club managed to escape via a back door. The celebs were later released on bail.
On Monday, Maharashtra government declared a night curfew in municipal corporation areas. This is as a precautionary step amid growing concerns over a new coronavirus variant spreading in Britain. The curfew is set from 11 pm to 6 am till January 5.
Ahead of the New Year, the Maharashtra government has imposed a series of restrictions in Mumbai from December 22 to January 5 as a precautionary step.
