Mumbai is once again being battered by heavy rainfall. The torrential rainfall has affected normal life in India’s financial capital, with water logging, traffic jams and flight delays. After a part of an upper floor collapsed in Shivaji Nagar, Govandi where eight people have been injured. Now a wall has collapsed at Andheri East in which a woman is reportedly trapped.

The said incident took place at Paper Box industrial area in Mahakali.
Water logging is reported from different parts of the city that has added to the Mumbaikar’s miseries. BMC tweeted a while back, “Dear Mumbaikars, the city has experience heavy rainfall in the last couple of hours, especially in the eastern suburb. We regret all the inconvenience that has showered along. But the intensity is on decline now & our teams will try to pump out logged water as soon as possible.”

Met Dept forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall for the next 24 hours. The heavy downpour has been attributed to the cyclonic circulation persisting over south Gujarat and Maharashtra. Along with the cyclonic circulation, there is plenty of moisture coming from the Arabian Sea. Collectively, this is causing heavy to very heavy rainfall over the region.
