twitter

Mumbaikar’s once again woke up to a wet Monday morning as rains continue to batter maximum areas in the city. Waterlogging across the city are being reported. There are traffic jams across the city and even the Central Railways is running 10-15 minutes late.  Flight operations too came to a halt at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport due to poor visibility.

But an airport official has confirmed to ANI that No flight is cancelled as visibility is changing every minute. “Due to heavy rains, the visibility is changing every minute. Since 9:15 am, the visibility at the airport is fluctuating. There is a delay due to weather. No cancellation as of now but 3 diversions took place till now.”

The heavy downpour has been attributed to the cyclonic circulation persisting over south Gujarat and Maharashtra. Along with the cyclonic circulation, there is plenty of moisture coming from the Arabian Sea. Collectively, this is causing heavy to very heavy rainfall over the region.

The netizens took to social media to share the condition of the roads and asked Mumbaikars to be safe. The roads in Kurla and JVLR already started to get waterlogging.
