Mumbai Rains Update: 17 Flights Diverted, Traffic Jams In Mumbai After Very Heavy Rain
Mumbai is once again facing the woes of heavy rains since Friday. Looks like the problems are not over for the financial capital as the latest forecast of India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted intermittent rain with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places in the city and the suburbs.

As per latest reports, Mumbai-Kolhapur Mahalaxmi Express, with 2000 passengers onboard, halted due to incessant rains on Saturday morning, informed the Central Railways. The Divisional Railway Manager of Central Railways has asked rescue teams to immediately arrive on Badlapur and Wangani route. Railway Protection Force and local police have reached the site where Mahalaxmi Express is held up. Biscuits and water being distributed to the stranded passengers.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has already moved into the city. Passengers stranded in the train will be airlifted to safety. However, rescue operations are currently hampered due to incessant rains. Meanwhile, seven trains have been cancelled today and nine have been diverted.

As reported by News 18, More than Seventeen flights were diverted and many delayed by up to an hour in Mumbai on Friday evening due to low visibility. Waterlogging and traffic jams across the city are the current bane for the Mumbaikars. Juhu Tara Road, Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road, several stretches of SV Road and parts of Western Express Highway were waterlogged, leading to traffic jams. Traffic jam on the Western Express Highway started before the toll plaza at Bandra and extended all the way up to Borivali.

As per Skymet, The intensity of the rain will only start decreasing from Saturday afternoon or evening.
