Mumbai Police solves burglary case in 48 Hours, arrests 9
In a remarkably speedy approach, Mumbai police has busted a burglary case in record 48 hours and have arrested nine people on Friday who had looted gold jewellery worth Rs 42 lakh. All nine suspects are sent to police custody till Tuesday. The police have recovered 99 percent of the jewellery stolen.
Police officials stated that, Lal Shaikh (20) was taking ornaments for polishing along with owner Jignesh Shah around 9:30 pm on July 18, when four people stopped him near Dahisar raily station and started pushing him around. They then assaulted Shah and absconded with the bag of jewellery worth Rs 42 lakhs. In the beginning, the police had registered a case of robbery, but soon they realised that more than four people were involved, hence, IPC sections for dacoity were applied to the case.

Police also stated that accused Shafiqullah Mandal (24) was jobless and had asked Toidul Mandal (19) for help. Toidul, who worked in the same jewellery workshop, had tipped him about the jewellery. Shafiqullah, in turn allured others from Dahisar to accomplish the crime.
The other accused arrested are Pankaj Pandarkame (25), Sameer Rana (23), Sachin Gaud (23), Nazim Ansari (20), Santosh Rajbhar (24), Shankar Singh (22) and Santosh Baban Tayde (26).
