Mumbai Police Issues Guidelines For Eid-e-Milad Celebration. Check Guidelines
Eid-e-Milad is being celebrated on Tuesday in Mumbai city. The state government has prohibited any procession for the occasion. There will be one in Mumbai City district and another in Mumbai Suburban district. The Mumbai police have issued sops for Eid e Milad. As per the guidelines, five trucks will be allowed for the procession.

According to the guidelines issued by Mumbai police, only five trucks are allowed per procession. But prior permission from the police is necessary. Each truck will have only five people in it. The notification by the Mumbai Police also states that the order comes into force from midnight of October 18. It will remain effective till October 20.
As per the notifications, any person violating the order will be punished. This is under Section 188 of the IPC, and under the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and National Disaster Management Act, 2005.
Strict adherence to Covid-19 norms should be maintained. Use of face masks, sanitisers and maintaining social distancing should be followed.
Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi is an annual celebration to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad. It is observed in the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal. It is the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar, which commences with the sighting of the moon. The occasion also marks the death anniversary of the Prophet.
