A 23-year-old Mumbai based model was arrested for allegedly pushing his mother during a fight resulting in her death on Saturday. The model identified as Lakshya Singh. According to the Oshiwara police, Lakshya Singh was arrested in connection with death of his mother Sunita Singh 45, a fashion designer.
According to the report, the victim used to live with the accused son and his fiancee in a rented flat in Cross Gate building in Mumbai’s Lokhandwala area. The accused was produced in local court, which sent him to Police custody till October 8.
According to the initial investigation, both victim and accused model were addicted to drugs, Shailesh Pasalwad, senior inspector, Oshiwara Police Station told PTI.
“We will interrogate the accused today to ascertain what exactly led to the scuffle between them,” he quoted by PTI as saying.
According to another official, the accused has told the police that he had pushed his mother in the bathroom during a scuffle, possibly over finances, after consuming drugs Wednesday midnight.
“Ms Singh hit her head on the wash basin and collapsed, while Lakshya locked the bathroom from outside,” police said.
When the accused Lakshya opened the bathroom’s door in the morning, he found his mother dead.
At the time on the incident, Sunita, Lakshya, his fiancee and two domestic helps were present in the flat.
