Mumbai: Prominent businessman’s son killed, friend hurt in Marine Drive car accident
A 19-year-old man son of a prominent businessman was killed in a major car accident at Marine Drive Mumbai. His friend suffered serious injuries. The incident took place when their speeding car rammed into a stationary bus near S N Road near BD Somani Chowk. Eyewitnesses immediately called the police and both the teens were removed from the mangled remains of the car.

As reported by a source to The Hindu, The fatal accident occurred at around 4 p.m. at the BD Somani Chowk stretch of the Marine Drive on Tuesday. The duo, identified as Shauryasingh Jain (19) and Aryaman Nagpal (18), were in a Maruti CEAT on Marine Drive. Mr. Jain was driving, while Mr. Nagpal was in the front passenger seat. The speeding car crashed into the bus.

Both the boys were rushed to the Harkishandas Hospital. Mr. Nagpal was declared dead before admission, while Mr. Jain is admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. The deceased, Aryaman Nagpal (18), was a Nepean Sea Road. Shauryasingh Jain (19) was from Cuffe Parade. The car belonged to Jain’s maternal uncle.
The Marine Drive police have registered an accidental death case and may file a case of rash and negligent driving and flouting the lockdown rules.
