A 25-year-old man allegedly stabbed his 21-year-old cousin with a knife after she rejected his marriage proposals in Thane. According to the Mumbra police, the accused was her maternal uncle’s son.
According to the report, the accused had proposed victim multiple times but she rejected his marriage propsals. Senior inspector Kishor Pasalkar told Mid-day, “The accused again approached the woman on Sunday evening, but when she declined his proposal. He stabbed her multiple times with the knife near her house at Samrat Nagar in Mumbra and fled from the spot.”
When her parents heard her cries for help, they rushed to the spot and took her to the Kalwa Hospital. “The victim reportedly received eight stab wounds and was undergoing treatment at the hospital. Her condition was reported to be out of danger,” Pasalkar said.
The Police are looking out for the accused who is still out of the reach. They have registered a case against him under IPC section 307 (attempt to murder), the official said.
