Mumbai Indians have finally found an alternative to Adam Milne, who has been out due to his heel injury. Yes, Mumbai Indians have selected Alzarri Joseph for the Vivo 2019 Indian Premier League instead of Adam Milne. You must be wondering, who Alzarri Joseph is? Joseph is Antiguan cricketer, who plays Test and ODI for West Indies. He is a right arm fast bowler and has played nine Tests and 16 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) for the West Indies as of now. Prior to joining West Indies cricket team, he used to play for Leeward Island and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in West Indian domestic cricket.
For uninitiated, Mumbai Indians will face Royal Challengers Bangalore today. IPL has issued a statement today confirming that Joseph, who has featured in nine Tests and 16 ODIs for West Indies, will join the squad, but there’s no clarity on whether he will be available for the next couple of matches.
“Mumbai Indians have picked Alzarri Joseph as a replacement for the injured fast bowler Adam Milne for the IPL 2019,” said the statement.
According to the rules, the amount paid to a replacement player cannot exceed the amount paid to the original player. Adam Milne was bought for Rs 75 lakh in the auction.
