Mumbai: Fire Breaks Out In a Shopping Mall in Borivali
Fire breaks out at shopping centre in Mumbai’s Borivali, 14 fire engines on spot
A level three fire was reported at Indraprastha Shopping Centre located in Borivali West, Mumbai on Saturday. 14 fire engines: 13 jumbo water tankers and a fire robot were immediately rushed to the shopping centre to put out the fire. No casualties have been reported so far in the incident. The local authorities are trying to ascertain the cause of the fire.

Chief Fire Officer Prabhat Rahangdale said, “We have deployed a robot to contain the fire. Fourteen fire engines and 13 jumbo tankers are being used to douse the fire.”

He added that the fire fighting teams tried to ensure there’s adequate ventilation at the site. They have removed the side grills of the basement. Later used exhaust blowers for the extraction of the smoke.

As reported by sources to NDTV, Fire erupted at Indraprastha shopping centre in Borivali West at around 3 am. The fire was initially limited to the basement but it gradually reached the ground floor and later engulfed the entire first floor of the complex.
The firefighting operations are still underway.
