Mumbai crime: Mulund businessman shoots self with revolver, dies
In an untoward incident, a Mumbai-based businessman committed suicide by shooting himself with his licensed revolver on Monday. The deceased identified as Satnam Singh Boparai was staying in Willow Twin Towers near Vasant Gardens in Mulund West of Mumbai, said senior inspector of Mulund police station Shripad Kale.
“It happened when Singh’s wife was present at home, but she was in a different room. On hearing the gunshot, she rushed to the room and found Boparai lying in a pool of blood”, a police source said, reports Mid-Day. The police said that along with the relatives, wife of Boparai took him to the hospital, but the doctors declared him brought dead. After that, his body was sent to Rajawadi Hospital for post-mortem.

Though the exact reason for the suicide could not be ascertained, police said that they are investigating the matter. “We have registered an accidental death report in the matter and recovered the revolver, an empty cartridge and five live rounds from the spot,” Kale said.
