Mumbai: Building collapses in Fort area; rescue operations underway
Portion of Bhanushali building at Fort, collapses; 4 fire tenders on spot
Heavy rains continued to lash Mumbai for the third day. The incessant rains have caused the collapse of a residential building in the Fort area of Mumbai. A large portion of the Bhanushali building on Mint Road near Lucky House has collapsed. The incident took place around 4.43 pm.
Many people are feared trapped in the debris of the ground plus five-storey residential structure.

Four fire engines and one rescue van has been sent to the spot. No injuries have been reported so far but some locals are said to be trapped under the debris. Rescue operations are on.

Sena MP Arvind Sawant speaking to ANI said, “I have heard that repair work was underway at the building. The families still in the building will be evacuated.”
