Mahendra Singh Dhoni hasn’t been having a good time in international cricket so far but he has found the support of former great VVS Laxman, who advised the wicket-keeper batsman to play just like he did in this year’s Indian Premier League to have confidence, going into the World Cup next year in England.

“I am excited with the way he batted in the IPL this year. If he goes out and plays with such freedom, he is still a dangerous player. If he plays his natural game and expresses himself, I am confident he will be very successful in the 2019 World Cup,” Laxman said, as quoted by Hindustan Times.
The explosive Jharkhand cricketer has been one of India’s main men in the team for over a decade now and has led to World Cup glory twice. Of late with his big-hitting powers on the wane, the unorthodox batsman has found it tough to find some footing and was even dropped from India’s T20I squads against the West Indies and Australia.
Calling him the “best keeper in the world”, Laxman backed Dhoni to have a crucial role in the World Cup.
“MS Dhoni is a legendary player and I believe he will have a big role to play in the 2019 World Cup. He is the best wicket-keeper in the world without a doubt, even now. He is supremely fit,” he added.
