While fans wait for the live-action reboot of the Mortal Kombat franchise featuring Elissa Cadwell as Nitara, the trailer for the upcoming Warner Bros. animated film titled Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge has been released. The animated film will bring back beloved characters such as Scorpion, Johnny Cage, Raiden, Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, and Sub-Zero.
The Mortal Kombat trailer stars Joel McHale as Johnny Cage, Jennifer Carpenter as Sonya Blade, and Jordan Rodrigues as Scorpion & Hanzo Hasashi. In addition, we also have Steve Blum as Sub-Zero, Artt Butler as Shang Tsung, and Darin De Paul as Quan Chi. Also joining the cast of Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge are David B. Mitchell as Raiden, Ike Amadi as Jax Briggs, Kevin Michael Richardson as Goro, Grey Griffin as Kitana & Satoshi Hasashi, and Fred Tatasciore as Demon Torturer.
The film is being helmed by Batman: Assault of Arkham’s Ethan Spaulding. The script has been written by Jeremy Adams (Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans). Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge is releasing in Spring 2020. The plot of the movie takes us back to the beginning. Earthrealm protector Lord Raiden is recruiting fighters against the evil Shang Tsung and the Outworld.
With this trailer, WB animation hs shown that it is straying off the beaten path and trying something new.
