Mohammad Shami declines monthly-expense to former wife

The domestic war between Mohammad Shami and Hasin Jahan took a new turn after the India fast bowler refused to give any expense to his former wife and daughter on conditions that she has restarted her career as a model.

Shami, who was accused by Jahan of an extra-marital affair and of age-fraud and has several cases of domestic violence running against him, was left out of the BCCI central contract list last year. He did eventually get the contract but only after filing for a divorce with his wife.

Jahan even posted a series of pictures that showed Shami’s conversations with several women. After her separation from the cricketer, she has tried to restart her modelling career and even did a photo-shoot, which she posted on social media.

But it seems that her decision to go back into modelling and also try to move into the acting profession has backfired. Reportedly, at a hearing of the domestic violence case that she had filed against Shami, the cricketer’s lawyer argued that since Jahan has started working, she does not need any expense money from Shami, because she is earning on her own.

Earlier, Jahan – along with the many cases that she had filed against Shami – had appealed in a Kolkata court that her former husband should bear the monthly expenses for her and their daughter. The court had obliged to her demand and Shami was asked to send a part of his earnings to his ex-wife.

But now his lawyer argued that since Jahan had already initiated her career in the modelling world and has also approached a director for a movie role, she doesn’t need any money from the cricketer.

Jahan’s lawyer, however, retaliated that she has still not found any work and is currently in search of one. Hence the money should not be stopped now.

Meanwhile, Shami is a part of the Indian Test squad and is currently playing second of the five-match series. He was excellent in the opening innings of the first Test – taking three wickets – which India lost by 31 runs.
