Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena members attacked a multiplex manager in Pune over what they alleged exorbitant ‘ food and beverage’ prices, as reported in a section of media. However, a day after the alleged incident, the party defended the incident, saying the the multiplex owners have failed to heed the warnings of the Bombay high court. “Popcorn worth Rs 5 is being sold at Rs 250. The Bombay HC has already said a reduction in price is needed. We told manager to read news reports, but he said ‘don’t know how to read Marathi’,” ANI quoted MNS leader Kishor Shinde as saying, adding, what followed was an MNS-style thrashing.
