Mithali Raj Is The First Indian To Score 10,000 Runs In Women’s Cricket

Indian cricketer, Mithali Raj is garnering praises from all across as she becomes the first female cricketer to score 10,000 runs. She is at the second position in the list of most runs by women in the international cricket scene. Raj has showcased an impressive performance throughout the recent few matches. On achieving such a great feat renowned Indian cricketers, such as Sachin Tendulkar and Suresh Raina have shared warm posts congratulating her.

Mithali Raj went past the mark during her innings of 36 in the third ODI against South Africa on Friday. She flicked boundary off the bowling of Anne Bosch. The list of top five ladies with the highest scores in International women’s cricket includes- Charlotte Edwards( 10,273), Mithali Raj(10,001), Suzie Bates (7849), Stafanie Taylor (7816) and Meg Lanning (6900).

Mithali Raj is hailed as one of the inspiring players from the Indian women’s cricket team. She made her debut back in June 1999 during the ODI in Lucknow against England and she has so far participated in 10 Tests, 212 ODIs and 89 T20Is respectively. She has 663 Test runs at an average of 51.00, 6974, ODI runs at 50.53 and 2364 T20I runs at 37.52 to her credit.
