Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head to lead in different formats
Australia A squad will tour India later this year. The peregrination will include One days followed by 4 day games.
A very good squad is what CA has formed for this important tour. India A, South Africa A and Australia A will play a triangular series at Vijayawada in the month of August.
Travis Head has been appointed as the one day skipper whereas Mitchell Marsh will lead the 4 day side. The 4 day games will be played in September. Marsh gets a power pack experienced side with the likes of Alex Carrey, Ashton Agar, Peter Handscomb, Travis, Holland, Usman Khawaja, Joel Paris, Matthew Renshaw, Chris Tremain.
There has been discourse about Mitchell Marsh being Vice captain in Tim Paine’s regime. The brute Australian legend wicket keeper Adam Gilchrist feels this as a significant opportunity to demonstrate his captaincy skills in India where things wont be easy at all.
This tour is extremely important as it also acts as a preparatory event for the test series against Pakistan in UAE. It will be a good warm up in order to get used to the subcontinent conditions. And with the side they have, the resurgence is all what their cricket board aspires.
Shaun Marsh, Joe Burns and Glenn Maxwell who were part of the tragic South Africa series have been left out for this series. Pakistan got the better of Kangaroos last time they visited UAE. They would definitely want to turn it around this time.
