Earlier there were reports that the release date of Mission Mangal was shifted from August 15 to August 9 to avoid a clash with Batla House and Saaho. But now it is official that the movie is releasing on the same day it was earlier scheduled. Trade analyst, Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter handle to announce the news. He wrote, “OFFICIAL… No change in release date… #MissionMangal to release on 15 Aug 2019… Stars Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari and Sharman Joshi… Directed by Jagan Shakti. #IndependenceDay”
Check his tweet below.
Mission Mangal is based on India’s space programme Mangalyaan that was successfully executed on 5th November 2013. The movie is considered as India’s first space movie where the main spotlight will be on the women scientists who became famous after the success of the Mars Orbiter Mission. Akshay Kumar and R. Balki are reuniting for the second time after Padman.
The shooting for the movie was completed earlier this year. Taapsee, who plays a scientist in the film shared her picture announcing the wrap-up.
Prabhas’ Saaho and John Abraham’s Batla House are also having Independence Day release. In that case, all three movies will face tough competition with each other.
