Manya Singh, Miss India 2020 runner-up is winning all praises on the internet. A daughter of a rickshaw driver from Uttar Pradesh has written history with the same and has proved that one should never give up on her dreams. Her story has been a tough yet learning experience.
This year’s Femina Miss India was the 57th edition and for the first time ever, the contest was held digitally due to the Coronavirus pandemic globally on February 10, 2021. While Manya was crowned Miss India 2020 runner-up, Femina Miss India Manika Sheokand won Femina Miss Grand India 2020 and Femina Miss India Telangana Manasa Varanasi emerged as Miss India 2020. The contest was judged by Falguni Shane Peacock, Neha Dhupia, Chitrangada Singh, and Pulkit Samrat.

1. At 14, she ran away from home and left for Mumbai to pursue her dreams.
2. Her mother mortgaged her jewelry to ensure that she completed her degree.
3. She worked as a domestic help in other homes during her teens after school.
4. Manya gave the audition for Campus Princess over 10 times but did not get selected.
5. During her young age, she worked at Pizza Hut and completed her schooling with her salary.
6. She spent many nights without food and sleep and many afternoons walking for miles on end.
7. Manya decided to take part in the Miss India pageant to uplift her father, mother, and younger brother.
8. She was academically bright but that didn’t dictate her career choices, as she dreamed of something different.
9. Manya wasn’t officially enrolled in any school till Class 9th as her parents could only afford the exam fee and would only go to school for exams.
