At MWC 2019 Microsoft has launched 2nd Gen of HoloLens, a mixed reality wearable gadget. The device is designed to deliver a virtual world in hands of end-user to create and collaborate. Costing $3,500 per piece Holo Lens 2 features tons of upgrades compared to its predecessor. Microsoft aims to turn the wearable device into a consumer-oriented product where people can use it efficiently in their day to day life.
HoloLens 2 has double FOV compared to the previous generation, with approx. 2K pixel per eye the new model can offer more clarity. 10 Point touch interaction with holograms supported by hand sensing let users effortlessly to interact with virtual images. HoloLens 2 has a visual display engine to create realistic holograms maintaining a holographic density of 47 pixels per degree of sight.
To make things more real, HoloLens 2 has a new time-of-flight depth sensor, powered by AI and semantic understanding users can interact with holograms the way they interact with the physical object. Eye tracking sensor creates a natural environment for playing with holograms and new advancement also reduces power consumption.
HoloLens 2 is available for pre-order from the official site, in two editions HoloLens 2 with Dynamic 365 Remote Assist and the device only. Dynamic 365 Remote Assist lets users solve problems in real-time, a cloud-powered platform for business to share information and collaborate irrespective to their physical location.
